You've gotten used to viewing your Instagram feed in reverse chronological order...but all that could be changing.
Like Facebook, Instagram may be joining the algorithm bandwagon. Mike Krieger and Kevin System, Co-Founders of Instagram state that Instagram users miss an average of 70% of the posts in their feed.
According to The New York Times, in an article published yesterday, "Instagram will place the photos and videos it thinks you will most want to see from the people you follow toward the top of your feed, regardless of the time those posts were originally shared."
Instagram says the testing, which started yesterday, will start out small and tests will only effect a small percentage of of the 400 million users.
So what does this mean for businesses that use Instagram as part of their marketing strategy? Stay tuned...we will continue to keep you updated on the changes.
